Buying Specialty Bedding Products

Specialty bedding products are sometimes difficult to find.  If you are dealing with the problem of owning an abnormally shaped or sized bed, such as the round beds that were popular in the 1970s or a waterbed, your local bedding retailers may not keep such items in stock.  While it is certainly not a problem that most people deal with on an average basis, not having the information available when you encounter this problem is disheartening.  So today, let’s take a brief look at how you can find specialty bedding items that may seem impossible to locate.

I can’t tell you the number of times people ask me where to find a decent set of waterbed sheets for a twin sized waterbed.  These beds just went in and out of popularity so fast, there were a lot of them around and very few manufacturers making the bedding to fit them.  While I usually set them up with the information they need, I can’t personally answer every request that comes in.  So I’m going to share with you how to find these specialty bedding items without having to contact a bedding guy.

The first step is knowing where to look.  Thanks to modern technology, nearly everyone has a computer with Internet access in their home or they can go down the street to the public library and get online.  This is your greatest tool when shopping for anything that is difficult to find because the world wide web is also the world wide shopping mall.  Your search engine is the store clerk.  Type in a request like “specialty bedding round bed” or “twin size waterbed sheets” and hit enter.  The search engine will almost instantly find items available for purchase or information to help you locate these items.

Most of the time, this step will also save you money because you can compare the prices and quality of several different retail lines without traveling from one location to another.  If you are like me, you may find online shopping becomes your new hobby because it is so easy to find top quality products at excellent prices and have them shipped directly to your door.  Let’s face it.  With fuel costs going up every day, it is a lot cheaper to pay a few dollars in shipping charges than it is to fire up the old V-8 and drive to the shopping mall.  Plus, with online shopping, there are no crowds and no clerks saying “we just sold the last one”.  If you’re in the market for hard to find bedding products, I strongly recommend you follow my advice and give online shopping for bedding a try.
